What exactly does PTA do?

PTA provides Nimitz with:

Art instructor for all grades TK-5th
-
Help funding Recess 101 for all students

School assembly enrichment performances from professional artists
-
Contributions to Science Camp and other field trips

Subscriptions to classroom news publications

Reimbursements for classroom purchases
-
A budget for Library book and supply purchases
-
Community-building events such as Harvest Festival, Multicultural Festival, Walk-a-thon Carnival, Pumpkin Patch, Family Science Night, After School Care and Movie, among others.

The Nimitz PTA works tirelessly to raise funds that support essential programs no longer funded by the State of California or the District. Without your support, we cannot continue to offer these valuable and enriching experiences at the current level for our students and school community.
​
We kindly suggest a donation of $300 for the first student and $100 for each additional student, but any amount is greatly appreciated. Our goal is 100% participation in the Direct Donation Fundraiser—every contribution counts!

Nimitz Walk-a-thon : March 28, 2025​​​​​​​

Help us with our biggest fundraiser of the year, the Nimitz Walk-a-thon, to support our TK-5th Grade Art Program, Technology, Assemblies, and Events at Nimitz! Our goal is to raise $25,000 and to walk 3,500 laps as a school.
The Walk-a-thon is happening on Friday, March 28, 2025. Students will be able to walk during the school day with their class and at lunch and we will continue the fun after school from 2:45-6:00, including a carnival from 4:00-6:00pm.
